Amongst the independent artists taking part in the new "CREATED" exhibition is Hannah Frank who studied at the Glasgow School of Art in the 1920's, exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Scottish Academy and was awarded posthumous honorary doctorate by the university of Glasgow for services to art. The late artists work is being represented by her neice, Fiona Frank who lives in Lancaster.
Jane Richardson explains: "To have the work of such a credible and prolific artist is truly inspiring for us as a gallery and we have no doubt that visitors will find her collection both intriguing and enchanting. We hold laot of respect for Hanah and indeed for her neice Fiona who is working so hard to keep her legacy alive."
Visitors to the gallery will be able to see limited edition framed prints, sculptures, card and note gift packsand an original pen and ink drawing by the great artist (original is not for sale)

Two of the Art and Craft Guild Members have collaborated to deliver an inspirational collection of interior pieces. Arthur Stewart, who designs and makes handmade wooden furniture has teamed up with fellow Guild artist Joanne Eddon whose area of expertise is textile design. The results are breathtaking!
They have "CREATED" interior lighting and room dividers that have caused quite a stir in both the gallery and the window display of our Brock Street store. The thoughtfully crafted wooden structures of the table lamps, floor lamps and screens have been beautifully decored by Joannes hand painted lampshades and silk panels. The most commonly heard reaction from visitors who have seen them so far (and this is only on day one1 might add!) is "WOW!!"Why not come and be "wowed" .... the exhibition runs until 24th March...See you soon.

“CREATED” works as an acknowledgement, a credit and a reminder, as to just how talented North West artist community is and also, the wealth of individual creatives we have in Lancaster alone.
Jane concludes; “It never ceases to amaze and inspire us to see the amount of supremely talented artists and makers we have on our doorstep. We do hope that visitors to our Brock Street gallery will enjoy viewing both the established and newly exhibited works.”
With an eclectic mix of paintings, limited edition prints, photography, mixed media wall art, jewellery, ceramics, sculpture and textiles it is evident that what Gallery 23 has “CREATED” is indeed a feast for the eyes!
