Artist, photographer and designer - what a signing! Our very own Sam Miller Gott who joined us in 2009 makes her mark as an artist at the “Fresh” @ Gallery 23 Exhibition.
Her work is a mix of vintage and modern; silhouettes and collage. She creates images and wall sculptures from old books and found objects.
You will also see the “Sam effect” on our invitation designs for this show as she is an absolute wizard on all things Adobe (Photoshop). Her ideas and input have given a real lift to our promotional material for this Spring exhibition.
Well done Sam!

Judith Coyle is a well respected Lancaster based writer and editor who originally trained as a journalist.
She has a fab new website and blog spot and we are thrilled to have been given such a positive mention on it! If you follow the link below you can see Judith's blog in full but here is the super entry Judith has put together about us.
Just wanted to share this pic of one of Lancaster's most popular arty, craftsy shops which we visit quite often. Arteria with Gallery 23 is owned by Jane Richardson who won the Business Rocks Business Woman of the Year award for 2008. The annual event, organised by our very own Chamber of Commerce along with Bay Business Centre, Business Link and Rotaract, recognises local businesses which are making a difference to our city. Jane’s achievement is particularly impressive in that her business is just 4 ½ years old and she began it at the relatively young age of 25. In that time she and her team have made the Arteria shop, which sells design-led gifts, and the contemporary art gallery upstairs, one of Lancaster’s most respected shops.

At Arteria we have got all romantic and sentimental and with Valentines just around the corner, it's no wonder! We have so many great Valentines cards and gift ideas for that special person in your life that will suit all price points.
Whether it is a fun or stylish gift from the shop or a handmade gift from the first floor gallery, we are certain you will find the perfect present and one that you will not see anywhere else in Lancaster.
You may be inspired by our Valentines window displays. One of them has been put together using props kindly on loan from The Dukes Theatre, Lancaster. We had alot of fun putting them together, and if you come along to have a look you could spot Cupid the Sock Monkey!!

Due to the popularity of our Wedding Gift List we have extended our portfolio to cater for all of your gift giving needs.

It’s a new year and Arteria with Gallery 23 is off to a flying start with an inspiring showcase of talent from The Art & Craft Guild of Lancashire.
The Guild was established in 1986 to provide support to professional artists, designers and makers. The Gallery 23 exhibition promises to be truly special as the members of the Guild are selected as such for their “qualities of originality and excellence in their work and design”
The credible artists, some of which are award winning, exhibit across the UK. The Lancashire based Guild to be showing at the Lancaster based gallery is an event that Managing Director Jane Richardson feels is an important one:
“We at Arteria are so proud to be presenting the work of The Art & Crafts Guild. It gives us great pleasure to champion such high quality local talent.”
Indeed the Guild itself believes this collaboration is a positive move for the creative profile of the North West and is enthusiastic about the Guilds achievements and members as Jane Bell, Chair of The Guildexplains:
“The Art and Craft Guild of Lancashire has been in existence for nearly 25 years. running as a co-operative .The Guild seeks out artists and designer/makers who create imaginative art and make unique objects encompassing textiles, jewellery, ceramics, wood and glass. There are a wide range of desirable pieces to satisfy all price ranges. We are very pleased to be exhibiting at Arteria where we have had several successful shows in the past. Lancaster is extremely fortunate to have a such a gallery who continually seek out new makers producing innovative articles."
