Well, imagine, its 1972, and a group of 20 or so friends are searching for a common project that will provide both work and a certain way of life.

The group decides to purchase an old mill that has fallen into ruins. They renovate the mill bit by bit so that their families can move in and live there together as a commune.

The adventure begins with screen printing and craft items (lamps, jewellery, decorative items . . .and toys)

Today, Moulin Roty represents 40 years of dreams and softness. A multitude of toy characters and stories have punctuated the years and their endearing quality is as valid now as it was at the beginning.

Introducing a quirky new project by Lisa Levis (nee Lisa Stickley). Inspired by her Aunty Betty & Uncle Walter, a couple who were in their heyday in the 1950′s.

Betty & Walter lived in The Bungalow on 5 Elms road. Being cattle dealers for the local farm, most working days were spent at cattle markets and the rest of their time was filled with cooking steak and kidney pie, tapioca pudding & walnut cake, tending to honeysuckle and harvesting raspberries, going to parties to play matchbottle and newmarket and drinking Camp coffee!
