“We work with the most marginalised bringing together an eclectic community of people who have experienced extreme social isolation through mental and physical disability, addiction, incarceration, unemployment, family breakdown etc.”

“We want to develop a creative screen printing Social Enterprise which is multi faceted, to improve confidence, increase social skills, encourage creativity, support new friendships and develop a real sense of purpose for everybody involved.”

“This project will culminate in the running of a screen printing enterprise, producing a broad range of bespoke goods ( bags, T shirts, deck chairs, table cloths, bunting, cards, blinds etc.) which will be sold in shops, market stalls, festivals, café’s, galleries etc.”

“We will also run screen printing workshop for groups. We can offer opportunities in marketing, business development, printing, teaching, business administration etc”

“Every day we meet people who have become increasingly demoralised by lack of opportunity, unemployment and the social constraints that are drummed into them from birth.”

“Outrageous Creativity provides everybody with a opportunity to engage in enterprise irrespective of their physical and mental condition or their social status.”

“Ultimately Outrageous Creative uses enterprise to inspire conversation and laughter, bonding and sharing, instilling a sense of purpose in people who have low self esteem and few hopes for the future.”

Harri Kaloudis recently wrote the following about the project in his blog:-

“The studio, named the Outrageous Hub, is located in the stone-clad, repurposed building of an old factory. It comprises two interconnected, cavernous spaces with exposed-brick walls, large arching doorways and large, yawning windows looking over the leafy Lancaster canal.”

“With inviting, vibrant, colourful decoration and furniture — much of which is designed by the resident artists — and with a lot of the produced work on display, the Outrageous Hub evinces the intention to nurture creativity and enjoyment.”

“The way the space is designed and arranged is so forward-thinking and category-defying, the Hub would fit in easily in any internationally renowned cluster of creative disruption in London, San Francisco or Milan.”

“Being at the Outrageous Hub can feel like like emerging on the other end of the rabbit hole to a place where different, better worlds are made. This is a space where an extraordinary mix of artists come together to create work of visual and commercial appeal and impact.”

“The Hub brings together creative people that are able-bodied and disabled, neuro-typical and atypical, professional and amateur, trained and untrained, recovering from addiction and addicted to creativity.”
“In their work, the Outrageous Ambition collective turns a good number of widely held misconceptions on their head: people branded as a ‘social problem’ demonstrate that they are in fact problem-solvers; rather than a cost to the public finances, they are producers of commercial and social value; rather than inactive and passive, they are productive; rather than dependent and care-receiving, they create opportunities for other to develop; rather than recipients of charity, they are the agents of social change; rather than in specialist settings and services, they find their place as equals in communities of practice that aggregate, multiply and combine individual contributions.”
